1 Peter 1:1-7
1. What does your election-chosen of God mean?
2. Am I predestined?
A. I believe yes because there are two destinations. God has a perfect will and a permissive will.
15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply:
and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, [and that] ye shall not prolong [your] days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him:
for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
B. If I choose God then I believe I’m predestined to heaven, but if I don’t choose God then I believe that I’m predestined to hell.
3. Today’s Text meditation words:

Begotten us again, Lively hope, Resurrection of Jesus, Inheritance, Incorruptible, Undefiled, Reserved in heaven for you.
4. The Trinity is involved in our identity from beginning to end.
A. Election in three dimensions. The God Head:
God our Father-Foreknowledge, Holy Spirit-Sanctification and Experience unto Obedience, Jesus sprinkling of the blood covering you to the end of your destiny-Heaven.
B. God wants us to see that our life is always connected to His. Election is before you, in you, and in front of you. Foreknowledge-Obedience-Destiny.
5. We are not exiled or alien to this world because of rejection but because God has chosen us.
A. Our lives are rooted in God’s eternal election by Trials, Tribulations, Temptations, Pain, Power, Promotion, Protection, Providence.
We are not Aliens in planted earth without purpose but because we have been designed for something so great that nearsightedness cannot see. We must be farsighted.
6. Chosen by God’s Foreknowledge. That is not only His awareness of what believers will do, but also His recognition that they are His.
7. Chosen by God’s Sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit in us works in agreement with God our Father, God the Son to conform us and lead us to the image of Jesus.
A. We are connected to God by election and our life is From Him, Through Him, and For Him.
B. Nothing we face or go through surprises God. It’s part of the process, the purifying, the teaching, the discipline.
C. You are chosen for greatness that’s why the training is so great. The greater the purpose the greater the training.
1 Peter 1:7
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ
8. Chosen by the Blood of Christ that is sprinkled by Jesus every time I sin. That’s keeping me unto my eternal destiny-Heaven.
1 Peter 1:13
1 Peter 1:18-20
What do we know about the days to come?
We know that for every changing circumstance, there is new mercy from our faithful God.
We know that whatever trials we face, God will be with us to guide and preserve us.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
We know that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You don’t know everything about your future, but you know the most important parts:
God will be with you.
Christ will intercede for you.
The Holy Spirit will empower you.
God will supply your needs.
The risen Lord will protect you.
The love of God will keep you.
All things will work for your good.
The defeat of sin and death is sure.
You will see Christ face to face.
You will worship the Lamb who was slain.
Your body will be resurrected.
Your sorrows will be no more.
You will be with loved ones in Christ.
You will be richly rewarded.
Christ will make all things new.
