Faith – Hope – Love

  1. What is faith?
    1. Faith is a relationship that trust God in every situation and every circumstance of life.
    2. Faith is the connecting power into the spiritual realm that links us with God. (Hebrews 11:1, 6)
    3. Faith is the act of a believer to lay hold of God’s resources, power and promises.
    4. Faith gives us the power to become obedient to God.
    5. Faith puts aside self-reliance to give us a deep inner conviction of truth that comes from the Bible-God’s word.
    6. Faith is a spiritual force that overcomes opposition and carries a person through great trials and triumphs over circumstances in the natural realm. (Hebrews 11)
  2. What is hope?
    1. Hope in human terms means a wish or a person’s desire. But Bible hope is our confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in God’s faithfulness.
  3. How does faith work?
    1. Faith and hope work by love. (Galatians 5:6; 1 Corinthians 13:13)
  4. Abraham is called the father of faith and we as believers come under the covenant that God made with Abraham. (Romans 4:23-25)
    1. Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him for righteousness. (Romans 4:3)
    2. God’s power and promises do not come through law but through the righteousness of faith. We do not have a relationship with law but with God. (Romans 4:13)
    3. Faith has the power to quicken the dead and call those things which be not as though they are. (Romans 4:17)
    4. Abraham against hope believed in hope not staggering at the promise of God through unbelief and received the miracle working power of God.

      (Romans 4:18-21)

  5. Now we overcome by faith – hope – love.
    1. We are justified by faith and now have peace with God through Christ. (Romans 5:1)
    2. By Christ we have access by faith into his grace which we stand and rejoice in the hope of God’s glory in operation in our life. (Romans 5:2)
    3. Now we can glory in tribulations knowing that tribulation is producing endurance, character and hope in God, so we won’t be ashamed. God is now teaching us and manifesting His love in our hearts by the power of the Holy Ghost who God has so graciously given unto us. God is in us and God is for us. (Romans 5:3-5)
  6. Faith in God:
    1. Don’t fear people.
    2. Don’t fear their numbers or the odds.
    3. Put faith in God – He’s faithful. (Psalms 3:1-8)
  7. Hope in God-Jesus is coming. (Luke 18:35-43)
  8. Love – Jesus loves you.
    1. One word from Jesus changes your life and circumstance. (Mark 4:35-41)
  9. By faith call your enemies out and put your foot on their neck. (Joshua 10:24-25)
  10. The greatest power in the world is faith, hope and love in God.
