God’s Promotion – His Faithfulness

1 Corinthians 10:13

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and He delights in his ways. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with His hand. I have been young and now am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends and his seed is blessed.” (Psalms 37:23-26)

Sometimes in life things just happen. We at times find ourselves in some kind of craziness. But today I want to encourage you that God is faithful. He will make a way of escape. He will see you through and put you on top. I have found that in the hardest, darkest hour in my life, I have seen and experienced God like never before. In those hard times God has proven to me who He is and His love for me. God shows us His mercy and grace as well as His miracle working power that changes our lives forever. In fact, we really would not know God unless we had seen Him in the darkness. Remember hard times and enemies will always promote you as you live for God.

I. God multiplies the poor widow’s oil. (2 Kings 4:1-7)

A. God cares about our family, finances, and freedom.

B. The widow’s prophet husband dies and leaves her in debt.

C. The creditors were going to take her sons to pay for the debt.

D. The Lord takes what she has which is some oil and multiplies it to pay the debt off and to give her a living.

E. The Lord will honor a faithful man of God even after his death.

II. God blesses the Shunammite woman with her heart’s desire. (2 Kings 4:8-17)

A. God gives her a son in her old age. He dies.

B. She never loses faith but believes God and He raises him from the dead.

C. The Shunammite woman and family move forfeiting their house and land to avoid a famine that the word of God told her about.

D. Seven years later they come back to their homeland. The Shunammite women goes to the king to plead for her property and the king just so happened to be talking about her son being raised from the dead years ago and the favor of God restored all that she had given up. (2 Kings 8:1-6)

III. Today say “God I trust you.” Now comes promotion.
