Ricky Sinclair: Arise – The Proof

The Proof

John 11:1-44I. If the disciples lied about Jesus what would be their motive, what would they gain from a false witness?

B. Do we really believe that the disciples made up the story about Jesus and His resurrection?

II. Why is it so important that Jesus arose from the dead? (I Corinthians 15:17-19)

A. If Jesus did not arise from the dead, then why worry about anything that He said?

B. The Bible says, “That I may know Him (Christ) and the power of His resurrection.” (Philippians 3:10)

C. Without the resurrection power of Christ, it would mean we serve a dead God. That would mean the deadness of our life would stay dead.

D. By resurrection power He turns hate to love, He turns insecurity into stability, He turns doubt into confidence, He turns selfishness into generosity, He turns bad into good, He turns a sin nature into a Godly nature.

E. The reality is, He takes dead stuff in our lives and turns it into life, and it starts the moment we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

F. It’s the proof and the power of the resurrection and life that is Jesus Himself in our lives. (John 11:25)

G. The resurrection of Jesus Christ means death is no longer a prison, but a passage into God’s presence.

H. The grave of Jesus says, you can put Him in there, but you can’t make Him stay there.

I. You can torture Him, beat Him, judge Him, jail Him, nailed Him, stab Him, talk about Him, hate Him, wrap Him, tomb Him and shut Him in, but He will come out, He will arise.

III. Jesus is here now, and He changes everything.

A. He is the God that walks on water and commands the weather to change for you.

B. He is the God that gives you and Peter permission to walk on water with Him.

C. He is the God that keeps you and Peter from drowning.

D. He is the God that takes His disciples who fear for their life in the night in a boat, to worship. God takes us from worry to worship.         (Matthew 14:22-33)

E. He is the God that has compassion and heals the sick. (Matthew 14:14)

F. He is the God that takes your little and multiplies it to feed thousands. (Matthew 14:15-21)

G. He is the God who promises the best is yet to come.

H. He is the God that teaches us resurrection every year during spring time.

I. He is the God who gives my life meaning, direction and opportunity to start over no matter what has happened.

J. He is the God who lifts me from struggles, disappointments, discouragement, uncertainty, pressure and fear. Jesus is the resurrection and the life.

In closing: The greatest proof that Jesus is the resurrection and the life is you.
