LAW VS GRACE

I. Law – Old Covenant (Exodus 20:2-5, 7-8, 12-17)
A. Under law God demanded righteousness from man. B. Under law everything depended on man and his obedience. C. The law demands but has no power to help you. D. The law kills and has no life in itself. E. The law is based on what you had to do and what you could not do…what I call do-do. F. The law says “thou shalt not – thou shall.”
II. Grace – New Covenant (Hebrews 8:6-10, 12-13)
A. Under grace God provided righteousness for man. B. Under grace everything depends on Jesus and what He did on the cross. C. Under grace it imparts and has accomplished everything on your behalf. D. Under grace we receive, not achieve. E. Grace says, “I will.”
III. If our believing is right our life will be right.
A. How do you see God, angry, ready to judge or loving and ready to embrace? (Luke 15:11-32) B. Say: God has already forgiven me. C. Say your name: I forgive you.
