Ricky Sinclair: It’s Time [Part 2]

Part 2

IV. Change your mind – Repent (Matthew 4:16-17 Amp)

“16  The people who were sitting (living) in [spiritual] darkness have seen a great Light, And for those who were sitting (living) in the land and shadow of [spiritual and moral] death, Upon them a Light has dawned.”

17  From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” ”

(Matthew 4:16-17 Amp)

A. It’s time to get closer to God.

(James 4:7-8 Amp)

“7  So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.

8   Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people].”

(James 4:7-8 Amp)

1. It’s not as hard as we think. God is near, God is here right now.

2. We can’t let our loyalty to God go away.

3. What if we fasted January 6-26?

4. What if we came to church faithfully?

B. It’s time to get honest with someone. (James 5:16 Amp)

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored.

The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. ”  (James 5:16 Amp)

1. It’s time to get involved in a group – Bible study

2. It’s time to find a mentor.

3. It’s time to start serving! Find a group here and get involved.

C. It’s time for us to get in tune with our purpose. (Galatians 6:3-4 Amp)

” 3 For if anyone thinks he is something [special] when [in fact] he is nothing [special except in his own eyes], he deceives himself.

4 But each one must carefully scrutinize his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behavior], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing himself to another.”

(Galatians 6:3-4 Amp)

We are putting programs together here at MPC to help everyone grow.

Don’t go through life, GROW through life.

D. It’s time to dedicate our lives to something greater than ourselves. (Ephesians 2:10 Amp)

“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set],

so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].”

(Ephesians 2:10 Amp)

1. When we help others it brings a great fulfillment.

2. Worshiping, praising, and serving God is the only thing that brings satisfaction and fulfillment in life.

V. Think and talk about it:

A. Leave 2019 and the past decade behind. Last time I checked, yesterday is gone and today is a brand new day.

B. There is always a shaking before an awakening.

C. God has given us the privilege of making decisions for our lives; therefore, repent, choose to get unstuck. Let’s let God unlock us.

D. We cannot change the past, but we can change today and the future.

E. Stop reading the same chapter; turn the page. The pig and the dog return but we aren’t animals.

F. If we want something to change, we have to change the ingredients.

G. If we want to change, we have to do something different. Maybe something we’ve never done.

H. Put God first and everything else will be added. (Matthew 6:33)

I. Our staff is putting together awesome programs and opportunities to enable us to grow and be the God family on earth. No one can make us or do it for us. We have to choose to grow and to go forward in our lives.

Welcome to a brand new year, a new decade, let’s go, it’s time. Love you guys.
